Program
Philosophy
It is our belief that all children learn differently. We will adopt enriching philosophies from different theories such as Waldorf, Montessori and Gardner. Children are natural learners. If the environment is rich and full, children will naturally explore and create. At our program, we will foster growth through providing experiences that will be fun and challenging. We will create a warm homelike atmosphere where children feel safe, loved
and valued. We will learn about ourselves and each other. Accomplishment will be a wonderful feeling for all the children.
The Mosaic School will use enriching, natural materials to guide children through discovery. Each classroom will have a quiet area for reflection or quiet reading. We approach our curriculum by examining the needs of the whole child. We will support all developmental areas such as social, emotional, moral , physical, cognitive, and creative.
Pre-school and kindergarten are a time when children grasp that there is a world around them. Social relationships are crucial at this time. The Mosaic school will focus on children's peer relationships and interactions.
Curriculum
We use a
combination of play based thematic education. We do create an environment
rich in materials that will allow children challenges and successes. Each
month the classroom will have chosen a theme. The many disciplines will be
shadowed by the chosen theme. The
beginning theme will be on, "All about me". Through this theme we will learn
about ourselves, each other and our environment. We use art, music,
literacy, fine motor, gross motor, math and science to explore our theme.
